What We Can Learn From Dating Sites

16 Feb

This is a review from the post What PR Professionals Can Learn From Dating Sites.

The title of this post really caught my attention. It shares how, as PR Professional, our information must be as attractive as dating sites are to single people.

One point that I found interesting described how on dating sites, each profile is encouraged to have a picture uploaded. People like to know who they are talking so pictures enable them to match a name to a face instead of a name to a company logo.

The public outreach of PR professionals must be as attractive as a profile of someone that could be a potential relationship candidate. The public must be attracted to the outreach and want to engage with the information. As members of the “relationship business” there should be emotions and interest attached to the information PR representatives have to share.

A love of the job can definitely make a company or industry seem more attractive and drive people to want to learn about it and perhaps participate with it.

Okay, your profile proves this point to a “T!” As I was going through your blog, I noticed how almost every one of your posts has a picture to look at. It makes it so much more pleasing to look at and attracted me to read some of them. This picture was interesting too and I loved your post. It is so true-when there is a picture or graphic, it makes the whole thing seem much more in depth. I never thought about it in this way- of looking at it like a dating site profile. It makes sense, though. Thanks for this post! 🙂
